Few things are more exciting for the whiskey obsessive than the opportunity to sit down with the distiller and taste whiskey straight from the barrel. And what if after tasting those lovely drams, you had the opportunity to choose one of those barrels to purchase? Barrel picks are always a good time. 

Here at Iron City Distilling, we do our barrel picks a little different than most places. We don’t pre-pick a set of barrels for you, essentially limiting your final choice to one of three or four predetermined casks. When you come into our warehouse for a barrel pick, we’ll start the whole process with a conversation. What style(s) of whiskey do you like? Are there certain flavors you’re looking for? Are there flavors you want to avoid? From there our distillers will take you through the warehouse, tasting through barrels that best fit your preferences. We don’t rush you. The whole warehouse is open to you. The goal is for you to enjoy yourself while we help you discover the perfect whiskey for your palate.
